Apillon's Embedded wallets 3.0: Seamless onboarding now for Polkadot dapps

Audited, invisible, and Substrate-ready: Apillon's Embedded wallets deliver secure onboarding and unified UX for the Polkadot ecosystem.

Apillon's Embedded wallets 3.0: Seamless onboarding now for Polkadot dapps

When we launched Embedded wallets back in November 2024, we flipped the script for EVM builders. One-click wallets. No seed phrases. UX so smooth it felt Web2-native.

Now, we’re doing it again - this time for the entire Polkadot ecosystem.

That’s right. Substrate support is live. And it comes with pure, native compatibility with Polkadot accounts.

Substrate is an open-source, battle-tested, Rust framework for building future-proof blockchains optimized for most use cases and enabled to connect to Polkadot's relay chain. The framework is built by developers for developers and is a part of the Polkadot SDK.

What’s new in this upgrade?

This isn’t a patch - it’s a power-up.

  • Apillon's Embedded wallets now support Substrate builders. Builders can integrate wallets without bridges, third-party tools, or user confusion.
  • The smart contracts behind the system are fully audited, so you’re not just fast, you’re secure.
  • We also upgraded the UX, trimming down any friction and packaging it with support for unified addresses right out of the box.

Whether you're building dapps, launching campaigns, or simplifying onboarding, Web3 on Polkadot just became a one-click experience.

What are Apillon's Embedded wallets?

Think of them as non-custodial wallets that users never have to think about.

Apillon's Embedded wallets allow any app, game, or website to create a fully functional wallet for each user - automatically and invisibly.

Just one smooth login and a wallet appears from behind the curtain.

Wallets are created instantly when a user signs in, using familiar credentials such as email. These wallets are non-custodial by design - Apillon never holds or sees the private keys, keeping control exactly where it should be: with the user.

And now, they’re truly chain-agnostic. Builders can integrate both EVM-compatible and Substrate-based chains with a single flow, giving projects the flexibility to scale across ecosystems without adding UX hurdles.

Why builders love it

Let’s be real: Web3 onboarding has been a mess. But it doesn’t have to be.

Embedded wallets let you turn any app into a Web3-enabled experience without redesigning the front end or teaching users what a seed phrase is. You can add token rewards, mint NFTs, or gate content with tokens while keeping the experience as clean as any Web2 website or app we know and use today.

It’s perfect for onboarding flows, long-term dapp usage, or even one-off interactive campaigns. You can drop wallets into a social app, CRM, e-commerce tool, or browser game and have users minting and earning within seconds.

What’s under the hood

Behind the scenes, Embedded wallets use a secure flow powered by confidential smart contracts, multiparty computation, and the Apillon SDK.

When a new user signs up (via email), the Apillon SDK spins up a wallet request. This request is handled by Oasis Protocol, our confidential smart contract provider. Oasis receives and stores encrypted account data and never exposes private keys, not even to us.

From there, the wallet is assigned to supported chains (EVM or now Substrate), and the user is ready to go.

Security? Audited and verified.

Before rolling out Substrate support, we ran our smart contracts through a full security audit by Decurity—a seasoned team of hackers turned defenders with over a decade of experience in application security and penetration testing.

In recent years, Decurity has specialized in Web3, performing audits for major exchanges, protocols, and blockchain infrastructure. Their work has safeguarded hundreds of millions of dollars across centralized and decentralized systems alike.

There were no high- or critical issues detected, only a few minor changes required. After the fixes, Decurity ran a full review and confirmed the code is all clear. Which means you’re building on infrastructure that’s been tested, patched, and proven secure.

So, whether you’re building for a hundred users or a million, the experience remains fast, private, and reliable.

Ready to onboard users without barriers?

Your Polkadot dapp just got way more welcoming.

With Embedded wallets now running natively on Substrate, your app can onboard users without a single blocker. It’s the perfect bridge between Web2 ease and Web3 power—minus the actual bridge.
