As much as we love building in our cozy development cave, we don’t mind getting out there once in a while to empower developers in person to build on the Polkadot blockchain.
The Apillon team engages with the Polkadot community at the industry’s biggest events on a regular to become the cornerstone of ecosystem cooperation. In other words, if there’s a cool Web3 event happening, we’re probably there.

sub0, the Polkadot Developer Conference
On September 19–20, you can meet the Apillon team in Lisbon. On top of the team demonstrating a live demo of the platform at the Apillon Showcase Station, our CTO Tadej Vengust will be giving a talk on Schrödinger’s NFT. Come for the interesting debates, stay for the awesome Apillon merch.

Polkadot Decoded 2023 (Denmark)
Mindblowing and exceptional — that was the consensus of all Apillon team members that attended the conference in Copenhagen. Still a bit starstruck with all the speakers and other guests, we have compiled a TL;DR about the awesomeness called Polkadot Decoded 2023.
BlockSplit 4 (Croatia)
Between May 22 and 24, 2023, the Apillon team was in sunny Split, enjoying long walks on the beach and doing a lot of Web3 networking. Want to read through the recap? Here it is.
Apillon advocates for faster, smoother and easily-accessible Polkadot parachain infrastructure to build upon. Matjaž Sobočan, CEO at Apillon, made a very compelling case about why Apillon should become a go-to platform for simplified Web3 building — you can see for yourself in the video below.
Paris Blockchain Week (France)
From March 20–22, 2023, the core Apillon team attended Paris Blockchain Week to present the Apillon platform and connect with other ecosystem teams.
At dotSocial, Matjaž Sobočan, co-founder and CEO of Apillon, discussed the need for UX-centered design in Web3 at a panel. Our team also co-organized Tacos on the Rock, where Web3 enthusiasts kicked off the week with free drinks and French tacos.

ETHDenver (United States)
From February 28 to March 5, 2023, the Apillon team was making waves at the world’s largest and longest-running Ethereum event.
We joined other makers and shakers of a decentralized future to showcase the UX-centered Apillon platform at the official Polkadot booth as well as other venues.

Polkadot Meetup Zagreb (Croatia)
#2 The second Polkadot Meetup Zagreb took place at ChainSafe Systems offices where the participants enjoyed an evening of talks from Astar Network, Apillon, and ChainSafe for Web3 builders and enthusiasts.
#1 On February 16, 2023, the first Polkadot Meetup Zagreb was organized by Apillon in cooperation with Astar Network, hosting RMRK and Parity Technologies. The event was a full house of Polkadot and Web3 enthusiasts who came from the wider Northern Adriatic region and beyond.

Polkadot Meetup Ljubljana (Slovenia)
Apillon regularly hosts Polkadot Meetups Ljubljana to bring together the key movers and shakers of the Polkadot ecosystem, mostly from the Northern Adriatic region.
Besides the always interesting guests and the complimentary drinks, prominent builders from the Web3 universe seem to keep coming back for the amazing atmosphere.
#4 Roundtable: Legal aspects of crypto
On April 12, 2023, Domen Uršič, CMO at Apillon, led a panel discussion with leading Slovenian lawyers who discussed the challenges of crypto regulations.

#3 Apillon x HydraDX
On February 16, 2023, Matjaž Sobočan, co-founder and CEO of Apillon, shared the story of Apillon while Nino Kutnjak, CPO at Apillon, showcased the freshly launched Closed Beta version of the Apillon platform.
Valery Gantchev from HydraDX talked about their revolutionary liquidity pool. Last but not least, experienced Software Engineer Stanko Krstič presented his experience with the Rust programming language.

#2 Apillon x KILT Protocol
On December 8, 2022, the second Polkadot Meetup Ljubljana hosted Dudley Needham, developer relations team lead at KILT Protocol, who explained how their blockchain identity protocol for generating decentralized identifiers (DIDs) and verifiable credentials provides secure and practical identity solutions for enterprises and consumers.
Tadej Vengust, CTO at Apillon, discussed the state of Polkadot and Apillon‘s plans to empower developers to build in the Polkadot ecosystem.
#1 Apillon x Web3 Foundation x KodaDot
The first Polkadot Meetup Ljubljana began with Domen Uršič, CMO at Apillon, sharing the backstory of Apillon’s recent rebranding.
Urban Osvald, Growth Manager at Web3 Foundation, discussed the potential of Polkadot’s network for the future of Web3 building before Nino Kutnjak, CPO at Apillon, served some well-picked memes and presented the upcoming Apillon Web3 development platform. Damsky from KodaDot discussed the hype around NFTs and their potential use cases.

sub0, the Polkadot Developer Conference (Portugal)
From November 28 — 29, 2022, the Apillon demo booth at sub0 welcomed builders from all backgrounds and offered them the possibility to envision building their next Web3 project the easy way.
The Apillon team closed the Lisbon Web3 gathering in style — by co-hosting a lovely dinner for Web3 builders and enthusiasts with Phala Network.

Next Block Expo (Germany)
From November 23–24, 2022, Patrik Kogoj, Growth Manager at Apillon, discussed the challenges of Web3 adoption and presented Apillon’s approach to solving these obstacles.

DOTBrno (Czech Republic)
On November 10, 2022, Matjaž Sobočan, co-founder and CEO at Apillon, attended DOTBrno to present Apillon’s new vision of how developers will be able to use the Web3 development platform to easily create Web3 products.

Token 2049 and Beyond the Chain (United Kingdom)
In 2022, Beyond the Chain was organized by Parity Technologies to mark the start of Token2049.
Domen Uršič, CMO at Apillon, talked about Apillon’s contribution to Web3 adoption and participated at a round table to discuss the future of all things Web3 together with Phala Network, Composable Finance, and Cumulus Encrypted Storage System (CESS).

The Apillon team was one of the main speakers at the 2022 Beyond the Chain.
Berlin Blockchain Week (Germany)
As you might know, before there was Apillon, there was Authtrail, its predecessor with the same core team and a very similar vision: Web3 adoption to spearhead business development and help with transparency and trustworthiness as companies keep ownership of the processed data.
Right before an even more ambitious vision was revealed under Apillon, the team attended Berlin Blockchain Week from September 12 — 19, 2022. Besides organizing an awesome boat party together with KILT Protocol, Authtrail solidified its position in the ecosystem at workshops, conferences, women’s brunches, techno parties… you name it!

PARISDOT (France)
From July 19–21, 2022, Matjaž Sobočan, co-founder and CEO at Apillon, Authtrail at the time, joined Phala Network, Moonbeam, Parity Technologies, Astar, and the Web3 Foundation, while CMO Domen Ursic participated in a high-profile panel organized by Polkadot and Phala Network with speakers from ComposableFin, Centrifuge, and Supercolony.

Polkadot Decoded (Germany)
The Apillon team, Authtrail at the time, made a stop in Berlin from June 29 — 30, 2022.
The main takeaway of the talks at the event was that high-level blockchain adoption needs easier and simpler Web3 building. This was very much aligned with the new vision of the company that would satisfy the need for more efficient toolboxes, which would empower developers to build the Web3 future.
